Sind b. ‘Ali

At the same time observations were taken at Baghdad near the Shammasiya gate; its erection is attributed to Sind b. ‘Ali, a Jewish convert to Islam. From these observations the tables called ‘Tested Tables’ or ‘Tables of al-Ma’mun’ were prepared according to method of the sindhind.
